Surgical Dermatology deals with the screening, diagnosis and treatment of various conditions of the skin, hair, nails, veins, mucous membranes and adjacent tissues by various methods such as surgical method, reconstructive method, cosmetic and non-surgical methods. The main purpose of dermatologic surgery is to treat, repair and as well as to improve the functions of the tiddues and cosmetic appearance of skin tissue. Some of the dermatologic surgery procedures include anti-aging treatments which is very common, injectable and implantable soft tissue fillers, botulinum toxin treatments, correction of acne scarring, chemical peeling, tumescent liposuction, vein therapy, hair restoration, laser surgery, skin cancer treatment and reconstructive flaps and grafts. As per the recent trend, Skin cancer has become the sixteenth most costly Medicare diagnosis and accounts for $2.9 billion annually.
